WE ARE WITH YOU
Students using music, learning, and service to support their communities.
WE ARE WITH YOU (WAWY) is GYCO’s first student-centered platform, proposed and developed by student founders Jueon (Aaron) Kim and Yeoeun (Kate) Kim. It grew from years of direct service and a simple question: How can we continue supporting and connecting with people even when we cannot be there in person?
Through performances, letters, teaching, videos, and community projects, students build connections with patients and families, older adults, individuals with disabilities, and other community partners. While much of this work begins face-to-face, the connection is not meant to end when a performance, visit, or activity is over.
WAWY extends those relationships beyond the moments when students can physically be there. Through this website and QR-based connections, people who meet us at an event, receive one of our letters, or interact with one of our programs can return to watch performances, explore projects, read and send messages, request activities, access resources, and stay connected with their community.
Even when we are no longer in the same room, our message stays the same:

What We Do

Students bring live and recorded music to hospitals, family houses, and senior communities.

Students and community members share letters and messages of encouragement.

About GYCO
GYCO — the Greater Youth Collaborative Opus — is a student-centered youth nonprofit founded in 2022 and registered as a 501(c)(3) in May 2023. Students rehearse, perform, teach, and organize their own community projects.
GYCO students have performed at City of Hope Atlanta, Ronald McDonald House Atlanta, and senior communities; written letters and prepared care packages for veterans; served refugee families in partnership with Friends of Refugees; and assembled 100 care packages for people experiencing homelessness in Atlanta.
